“Yes, five little ones who are always asking a lot of attention. Sometimes people ask me if I’m making a collection but I’m honestly unsure if they are serious or not, after all big family are normal within the Miqo’te species.” he winks“As for games ? In my Clan we’re used to share a lot of stories and it’s even an art, we use illusions to make them more real and Feli’a, my second daughter, loves to play stories, she’s always dragging her elder, F’anya and the rest if the family for playing with them to the point that I craft a lot of outfits for their stories and am often the prince or princess who needs to be saved. It’s pretty funny ! Even more when the Twins begin to destroy the settings.” He chuckles, remembering some specific event apparently.

This is for the wonderfully kind @geisterfuchs as a way to say thank you. I’ve seriously been taken back by just how awesome you’ve been. ; w ; You’ve gone above and beyond to help me out and I seriously cannot thank you enough. <3 I drew lovely Carina with her new hair because I absolutely adore it on her, it suits her so well. The whole Hlaiwa family is adorable and I love to see them and hear about all of the cute little headcanons you have for their family! I don’t often draw babies, but I did my best to capture how cute Alma is! So thank you again friend! I hope you enjoy it! <3 <3

I WAS WATCHING @DEWDLEPIES STREAM AS I OFTEN DO THOSE PASTS DAYS AND SHE JUST DOODLED THE CUTEST MIQO’TE LOOKING AT THEIR BABY WITH THE BEST EXPRESSION EVER AND I LITERALLY BEGGED HER AND OFFERED WHATEVER GILS SHE WANTED TO GET AN ILWE VERSION AND.. SHE DID IT T_________________T !!! THANK YOU, I LOVE IT T___________T !!!

Instead of giving something unique just for him, Rivienne's present for this starlight goes to his children in a large basket filled with numerous toys. There are pillows there, for the parents to find blissful, comfortable slumber, after the little ones are done trying out every miniature primal figurine, stuffed animal and puzzle Rivienne collected from the shoppes beyond the gates of Gridania.

It was a quite joyful scenery that followed the opening of the basket, F’elia being the first to take everything out as usual, soon imitated by F’anya who quietly organized the toys next to her, giving some appropriate for Olv’a, Lindë and their cousin, Raya’a to enjoy.Quickly the children began to play together, except for Alma who almost instantly fell asleep while hugging her brand new plush. Meanwhile the parents made themselves comfortable at the bay windows using the pillows sent for them to do so. Soon enough, Ilwe’ran fell asleep as well against Carina while she watched over the children, one hand slowly stroking her husband’s hair.

A box, labelled with the emblem of the Shooting Star Bakery had arrived! Inside was a taster box of upcoming spring goodies; red bell pepper muffins with a cheese fondue middle, a couple of slices of coconut and white chocolate oat bar, with sweet plum jam sandwiched in the centre. Several hard maple candies, with fruits jeweled inside of them. And a handwritten note hoping they would see them soon!

Ilwe’ran has barely enough time to open the box that F’elia is already pulling on his sleeve in an attempt to see the content. Knowing that the little girl will not leave him be until satisfied, he bends down and shows her as well as the other children what is inside.As usual, F'elia instantly announce that she wants to eat them all and calms down only after Ilwe'ran gives a candies to each one of them. Now free to rejoin Carina, he heads to the kitchen and places the box on the counter.“What is it ?” She asks while walking up to him, one hand instantly reaching to his arm. “Something you will certainly appreciate,“ he answers while picking a candy and offering it to her.As she tastes the sweet, he takes the note and reads it silently, giving it to her once done, “I sure know two ladies who would adore to taste more cakes if the opportunity is given to them.” Carina blushes ,“I have no idea who you are talking about,” she meekly answers, “but it could be nice to go with Sharada, Tamica and the children.. No ?”For a moment he is tempted to tease her, to pretend that there is no interest to go if she doesn’t really want to taste them herself, but for once he decides against it, her slight pout making him melt. “Very well, you only have to decide for a date and we’ll go together. Maybe once there you will guess who are the two ladies I was thinking of ?” He says while looking at her right in the eyes.

Following @amurr-reha‘s example I’m working on a charahub. This is just a stub for now but I really like the questions which are asked: If you have some troubles to create your character, answer to those and you’ll have a better idea of them !

02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness?

En’to would certainly not admit it openly or even speak of it, but he has been raised to become the rival of Ilwe’ran and he failed at his task.

Tecil and Hlaiwa lineages are the two biggest families of the Clan, they both have members very talented when it comes to use Aether. While Tecil’s family is more oriented illusions and casting spells on them to make them look more real, Hlaiwa family is far better with effective spells and words of power.

Most of Harya (highest rank in the Clan whom has as duty to take care of the Clan’s artifact, Parma) are either born Tecil or Hlaiwa. For this reason, there is a huge competition between the two families and it has some effects on the youth who prove to be talented.During his youth, En’to was pushed to learn and to work as much as possible which explains that he is the most talented with Aether and classic spell in the Clan. Yet, not having been chosen by Parma who preferred Ilwe’ran while this one couldn’t even cast a spell has been a huge blow on his pride and caused the disapproval of his Master.

En’to spent a lot of time wondering why not him, even more as he had been raised to become the next Harya and he suffered for quite some time from the feeling of failure and lack of abilities.

Beside Hwindë, nobody in the Clan knows how he feels, he’s pretty good at hiding what he thinks and trying to tease him about the topic will only lead him to laugh out loud and to add more on the topic.

The Interview - Ask

What is your full name? “Oh, hello there, I am Carina Hlaiwa, and who might you be?”

What do your friends call you? “Carina, they call me...”, she ponders for a moment, then looks at the one with the scribbling block, who had suddenly started to ask her questions while she was browsing the market stands of Kugane. “...is that a bad thing, cos you seem to expect something else from the look on your face?”

What is your favorite animal? “I don’t really....”, she starts, but then remembers that this is not only a foreign town, but a whole lot foreign culture around here. So maybe this is customs around here?... better not refuse... “..well, if i have to choose one, it would be the Chocobo...”, she looks around, apparently checking if a certain someone is around, “...but do never tell some grumpy Seeker about this, please...”

Where were you born? “On the Isle of Vylbrand, La Noscea to those foreign folks at home.... or more precisely, in the port city of Limsa Lominsa. Sure you will have heard of Eorzea’s pearl around here?”

Do you have any children? “Yes, Five actually.”, she says, a wide smile brightening her features, “...though only one born from my own blood, yet. Not that it matters, i love all of them equally.”

Is there a person/people you love? “Oh Gods, there are many. My family, and my ever so loving husband would only be the tip of the iceberg here. There’s a whole bunch in our houses, then dear friends, far and near... just too many to name right here....”

What is your favorite colour?

“Rolanberry, of course... and by chance my hair is of the same colour.”

What is your full occupation? Without even thinking she answers, “Mother, cook, traditional healer. I used to be counted among the Conjurers of Gridania’s ranks, but some less fortunate experiences soured that for me, and I arrived where I am now.” 

Are you good at physical fighting? ”Hells, no... see me carrying a weapon, do yourself a favour and run... I am so clumsy, nearly every time I try people and things around me get hurt...”

Which form are you best at? “I’m the least incompetent with a bow, though there are many I haven’t tried. I don’t need to become a Calamity myself.” she blushes, having answered htese last questions about her failures.

What about magic? She hesitates for a moment, and her cheeks take on a slightly more purple colizr then before. she seems to be embarrassed and a little afraid as well. “I really should not speak about this. I don’t want to repeat the Gridanian incidents here in a city that doesn’t yet fear me.” she then looks up again, suddenly aware that she spoke too much of that aloud. “Oh, please, don’t tell anybody that, and don’t write this down, please... I don’t want to be the ‘Demon Girl’ again! Please...”

Which type are you best at? She sighs, then whispers, "I will tell you what I’m not good at, which is healing magic... cant do it for the life of me... Whenever I try i blow things up... but no telling, yes, please?”

Craftsmanship? The switch of topic makes her take a breath again, and she seems very much relieved. “Thank you... cooking, I’m quite good at cooking. My husband and friends claim that I’m one of the best if not the best cooks of Eorzea... but they say that only to tease me. I’m alright I guess.”, she smiles when recollecting the memories of her friends saying those words. “Apart from that, I’m not half bad with a sewing needle, cos, you know, five girls... you gotta sew many things.”

Any other skills? “People tell me i am the born mother... and i agree with them. Nothing give me more joy than caring for my family.”

Are you an only child? "Oh, no... I have three siblings, two sisters and a brother... though my brother we lost sight of a long time ago.. I don’t even know if he is still alive.” The last part leaves her thinking for a moment, and parting from those thoughts again with a heavy sigh.

Where do you see yourself in five years? “Hopefully I’ll have at least another child by then, maybe a boy for a change, though, being a Mioq’te, Mephina must smile on me for that one to happen. Also, I hope, by then, we’l be back living in Eorzea again.” Realizing that what she has said might be offensive to a Kugane citizen she immediately adds, “Nothing against your beautiful city... it’s really a wonderful sight... but home is where the heart is, yes?”

Have you ever almost died? "Yes.”, she says, lifting a finger towards the scar over her right eye, a long and nasty burn scar, starting at her forehead, crossing the eye, and ending on her cheek. “The Calamity was a test for all of us, right?”

Do you have a secret, not just a secret, but like a really big secret hardly anyone knows? “Gosh, i hope not, and if there was i wouldn’t tell you, right... cos it wouldn’t be a secret anymore...”, there’s a certain glint in her eyes, even a hint of a threat to not ask about this anymore ever again. For a short moment the right eye glows in a faint orange.

Salty or sweet? “Sorry, I’m a cook... i love all the flavours... you can do so much with them.” she seems very happy now that the interviewer got the hint about the secret thing.

Do you like yourself? “Pretty much, yes... I used to think low of myself, but time, and love, and foremost my most wonderful husband Ilwe’ran, them changed this for the better.”

Do you believe in the Twelve? She sternly nods, leaving no doubt that she does. "I do, fervently. Above all i believe in Menphina, my patron deity. But, i don’T advertise, and i certainly don’t think less of them who don’t believe. Religion is and should always be a personal thing. And definitely nothing to wage war about.” 

Are you religious? “I think I just answered that as well.”, she says, with a nodding smile.”You can’t really be in doubt about it, right?”

Do you carry prejudice with you? Sighing again she nods, a small shadow, just for a moment, crossing her eyes. “Sadly, i do... and though it got better, and I was shown kindness where least expected, i am not very fond of Lalafell, and Elezen always gives me frights. Also, i will never trust most anything Uldah fully, I beleive, though it pains me to admit that.”

What do you consider entertainment? “Watching my children play, or sitting with my husband in a window, either reading a book each on their own, or to each other. I like quiet entertainment. ever was much of a party goer... for reasons.”

Favourite drink? “Milk... especially when mixed with Rolanberries and maybe yoghurt.”

Do you have any family traditions? “Oh, gods, too many to mention... being from one Clan and having joined another, there’s a whole mix of them, all important.” she lifts her left hand, pointing and the purple stripe across here face and eyes. “See this, it’s one of them, and please don’t ask me to explain... it’s too much for a short conversation.”

Are you a good person?

She tilts her head to her right, thinking about this one for a moment.“I’m alright...”, she finally answers, but then adds, “...but anyone do anything to my family, and I’ll become a nightmare.”

Thank you for answering my questions. “Oh?”, she says, on the one hand surprised that this is already over, on the other quite happy no more personal questions seem to lie in ambush here. When the strange interviewer then just turns and vanishes into the crowd she is left baffled, and finally mumbles to herself, “Kugane.. there are surely many strange things here... i really need to ask about the manners and customs here... I hope i didn’t offend him”.

Abilities :

Hunt : Ilwe’ran is excellent when it comes to hunt would it be to track and catch a prey or trailing another human being. 

Archery : On contrary of what he claims due to his own referential, he is pretty good with a bow. Having learned partly alone and being his weapon of choice since he is very young explains his natural inclination for it.

Survival : Leave him alone, naked, in an area he never went before and he will find a way to survive. His adaptability to new environnement is excellent.

Aether manipulation : Shaping aether is actually what he is specialized in as any other member of his Clan even though he hardly ever shows what he is able to. More infos > here < !

Aether shields : His trademark when it comes to aether manipulation is his ability to create aether shields. If helped by his Clan and given enough time, he can protect and even hide a whole area.

Hobbies :

Crafting : Ilwe’ran loves to create things so he has some basic knowledge in a lot of different craft. His main problem is that beside weaving and creating new outfits, he gets bored pretty fast and never pursue past his primarily goal achieved.

Reading : Ilwe’ran adores reading books in any topic but he is mostly passionate about History, fairy tales and legends.

Traveling : Would he not have a family, Ilwe’ran would certainly have left and be traveling, discovering new place is one of the thing he loves the most.

Discovering ruins : Ilwe’ran loves this more than anything else and most of his scars are due to his careless attitude when visiting some ruins when he was younger.

Get to know Ilwe’ran

➥ What is your character’s full name ? Antë’ra Ilwe’ran Ara Hlaiwa ➥ When were they born ? 20th Sun of the 5th Astral Moon ➥ Do they have any brothers or sisters ? At least 14 of them.. That’s quite a lot :D ! ➥ What kind of eyes do they have ? Blue almond shaped eyes. His right eye is one shade lighter than the left. ➥ What kind of hair do they have ? Silver blue VERY FLUFFY hair. He gave up on trying to tame it. His lion tail is pretty long for a male and the tuft is dark grey blue. His ears are white and fade to black up to the tip. ➥ What is their complexion like ? Grey blue skin with slightly darker stripes (if you ever wondered, the closest feline to Ilwe’ran is the liger). He has a whole lot of small scars, mostly due to him not being careful enough when he was young. The most noticeable ones are on his left tights, three large rows he earned during his firsts weeks in Eorzea as he was attacked by a giant worm in the desert. ➥ What body type are they ? Lean and fit, he still is less muscular than most males of his species but at least isn’t slender anymore. ➥ What is listening to their voice like ? His voice is soft and soothing, he has a very strong accent due to his foreign origins (> his voice claim <). ➥ What do they hate most about themselves ? Having failed to save the ones he loves. He doesn’t manage to forgive himself. ➥ Do they have a favorite quote ? He doesn’t have any. ➥ What sort of music do they enjoy ? He likes calm music. ➥ Have/would they ever cheat(ed) on a partner ? He kissed Carina before knowing what happened to Helin, so I guess he technically cheated ? ➥ Have they been cheated on by a partner ? Yes, more than once. ➥ Have they ever lost someone close to them ? Helin committed suicide and a plague decimated almost all his Clan and thus family, including his Mother. ➥ What is their favorite sound ? Carina’s purring, particularly when she sleeps and there is no other sound to hear. ➥ Are they judgmental of others ? Usually no. ➥ Have they ever been drunk ? He avoids to drink but it might have happened. ➥ What are they like when they stay up all night ? Perfectly fine, he never sleeps much anyway. ➥ Have they ever been arrested ? Character Questions

The Basics:

❖ Name : Ilwe’ran Hlaiwa. ❖ Age : (First difficult question) He was born 38 years ago but is in his late twenty due to a spell which turned bad. ❖ Deity : Nirë, though he wouldn’t call her deity but more guardian. He doesn’t believe in a superior entity having created the universe but is sure that the Twelves, like Nirë, exist to preserve Hydaelyn. ❖ One good trait : Ilwe’ran is extraordinary patient and forgiving. ❖ One bad trait : He has a real hard time to trust people, maybe even more now as he had been betrayed a few times those pasts years.

Habits:

❖ One bad habit : He doubts a lot of himself, it’s getting better but at times he falls back to it when stressed. (Is that a habit though ._. ?) ❖ One good habit : He likes to learn about everything and never hesitates to buy and offer anything that would help him and the others to educate themselves. ❖ One habit they can’t break : Eating fruits all the time. It’s not a bad habit but it’s something he just can’t stop doing. ❖ One they’ve broken : Unhealthy diet. Ilwe’ran suffered from malnutrition during his young age which had a lot of consequences such as his small stature and his habit to sneakily steal food in the kitchen. One of those bad consequences was that he could only eat small portions of food and would make them disappear as fast as possible as though someone would stop him or scold him if seen. That’s the reason why he eats so many fruits since it helps him to digest and to not suffer from stomach pain. Fëa and his Mother tried their best to break this habit which also had some dire consequences on his weight (Ilwe’ran was more slender than thin for a very long time) but they would systematically fail and eventually decided to leave him be. In the end, the one who helped was Carina, not by forcing him to eat, but by adapting her cooking to this odd habit. Ilwe’ran took on some weight those pasts two years and looks more healthy than ever thanks to her care ♥ . ❖ What they’re afraid of : Thunderstorms, losing Carina and his children, being powerless, the sensation of dying, drowning.. Quite a few things actually.

Family:

❖ Their parents names : Antë Hlaiwa & Helw’a Tecil. Fëa Melehte is his foster mother. ❖ Their siblings names : Between his two families he has at least 14 sisters and brothers. I didn’t name all of them (^^”) but his 3rd brother’s name is Firia’li, I’silmë and Aghamyr are his adoptive sister and brother and Mavra is his half-sister (from his father and.. Sholtë). ❖ Other relations : That would take too many time to list them all as he has his family is big. ❖ Favorite childhood memory : His father massaging him while softly speaking to him when he was sick. ❖ Favorite childhood toy : Lurëa, she’s not a toy but she was his friend and would stay and play with him. Ilwe’ran didn’t own any toy for very long and learned to use his imagination more than tools to play. ❖ Embarrassing story : None that comes to mind. ❖ Favorite family member : His Mother. ❖  A story about that family member : She’s the one who taught him how to carve and weave, that was their private moments together.

When he feels like it, though mostly in the night with Carina when the children are sleeping. ❖ Taking baths or taking showers ? Bathing when at home, showering when in Ul’dah. ❖ Writing or reading ? Both, he writes a lot of letters and devours a lot of books. ❖ Platonic or romantic love ? Platonic. Falling in love takes him some time and once he is romantically involved with someone it’s pointless to even try to get him fall for someone else. ❖ Iced tea or lemonade ? Iced tea. ❖ Ice cream or smoothies ? Ice cream. ❖ Cupcakes or cake ? Cakes, because he bakes them for Carina and the children. ❖ Beach or mountains ? Definitely mountain !

I found that website a few days ago and while it’s not the best (adoption isn’t an option for example), it gives a little idea of Ilwe’ran and Carina’s family structure !

I saw some cat icons on my dash and felt like doing the whole family~ !

In order : Ilwe’ran, Carina, F’anya, F’elia, Olv’a, Alma and Lindë ♥

A crate arrives for the snowy haired miqo'te. Inside is a fine selection of fabrics, a number of books, and a small container of figs. A slip of parchment reads "I thought perhaps you could make use of the fabrics. The books are of course easily traded in if you have read them and I do so hope you enjoy figs. With love, ~Zeiyth"

It was uncommon that one would walk up to the isolated house facing the Beds’ lake, thus Ilwe’ran was surprised when a white little moogle stopped next to him as he was taking care of the garden. The surprise became confusion as the fluffy one left behind a large crate and disappeared before the miqo'te could ask a single question. Ears perked up out of curiosity, he quickly forgot about the moogle and crouched in front of the box, his tail curling around him as he was prone to when unsure what to expect from something.He was about to try and pull up the lid when F’elia rushed out of the house, ran in his direction and stopped dead in her tracks, eyes widening as she saw the crate. If she came there for a specific reason, it was clear that she forgot everything about it after noticing the package next to her father. Ilwe’ran lifted up his head as soon as his daughter came around, expecting her to say something as she might have been sent there to ask for his help. The little girl sat in front of the box, her eyes barely at the same height as its upper part, and looked at her father, obviously excited.

“What is it Papa !?”“I don’t know yet, F’elia. Does Carina need me for something ?”“Do you think it’s a treasure ? Did you find it in the garden ? Maybe a Pirate left it there ? Or maybe there is a lamp inside and then there will be a Djinn and then we’ll all be some princes and princesses and happy forever.”

Ilwe’ran kept silent as F’elia was continuing to speak, a smile rising on his lips out of the happiness she was bringing just by inventing more and more stories. As she caught her breath after a very long discourse coming from such a young girl, he quietly asked again.

“Are you sure you weren’t asked to come and fetch me for something ?”

She immediately froze, frowned a bit, frowned more, trying to remember, while Ilwe was holding a chortle, used to see her reacting that way each time she forgot something and was asked to think about it. Her ears wiggled excitedly as she suddenly remembered and she quickly answered.

“Mama is baking a cake !”

She frowned again, trying to remember what about the cake was so important that she was sent outside to ask her father’s help.

“And she wants you to come for the icething.”

Ilwe’ran stood up at this announcement and picked the crate, placing it strategically between his arm and his hip to be able to hold it easily. Meanwhile, F’elia stretched both her arms in her father’s direction, waiting for him to pick her up, which happened quickly after he had stabilized the box.He carried his two packages inside, soon having to let go of his daughter as she began to wiggle to get down as soon as she noticed her sister in the living room. He then placed the crate on the counter, it being less important than to help his mate at this very moment.As expected, Carina was in the kitchen, her ingredients spread on the large table she was using when cooking with the rest of the family, she looked up as hearing Ilwe’ran stepping in and smiled towards him. They didn’t really need to speak at times like these, thus after answering to her smile with one of his own, Ilwe’ran picked the missing material necessary for the icing, as some of the tools were difficult to reach for Carina as she was close to the sixth month of her pregnancy. He was placing everything next to the cake when she finally spoke.

“What’s with that crate ?”

He looked confused for a moment, having forgotten about the box even though he placed it there only a few minutes ago. He turned to follow her gaze and nodded as remembering about it.

“I don’t know yet, a moogle delivered it right before you sent F’elia outside.”

Carina walked up to the counter, now being more interested by the box than by finishing the cake which could wait a bit longer. With ease she took off the lid which attracted the attention of F’anya and F’elia. Both the girls came closer to see what was happening, climbing on the stools to try and see what was inside. Not wanting to risk for them to fall over, as the chairs were not that stable, Ilwe’ran picked up the two girls one after another, putting F’elia on the counter so she could easily see the content of the crate while F’anya clinged onto him, nuzzling his neck, which lead him to keep her in his arms.

He was the last one to discover that the box was filled with several gifts. Books and cloth were partly taken off the crate one after another while F'elia was making a lot of comments about the colors of the fabrics. To please the young miqo'te, Carina took the time to read the title of each single book, the little girl inventing a new story about its contents each time, but she soon got bored by the game and jumped down the counter to return drawing in the living room.Carina placed the books to the side, while Ilwe reached out to touch the fabrics. He smiled a bit as the quality was high and the colors and patterns marvelous. F’anya, who didn’t utter a single sound since the moment she could hold her father, sniffed a bit and quietly asked.

“It smells like figs, are there some figs in the cake ?”

Carina shook her head and lifted up the cloth, thinking that the fabrics might have hidden something. As expected, under them she found a little box filled with figs, as well as a short letter. As for the books, she read the letter out loud and looked interrogatively at Ilwe’ran as the name of the one who just gifted them so kindly with so many things was unknown to her. Ilwe’ran’s ears moved confusedly a little while as he was trying to remember where he had heard that name before, then finally answered with a little smile.

“I think she’s one of our neighbours, in The Goblet, Lady Zeiyth. Though I don’t know her full name.”

Carina nodded and smiled.

“So we will have to invite her for a dinner to thank her.”

Ilwe’ran chortled softly, he could have guessed her saying that. Instead of answering, he closed the crate, picked the box with the figs and turned in direction of the cake.

“I’ll send her a letter to thank her later, but for now.. What about using those figs to decorate the cake ? Would you like that F’anya ?”

The little girl nodded, figs being one of her weakness. She slipped out from under her father’s arms, picked her personal apron and fetched her own little tools. Ilwe’ran and Carina watched her working, then her little sister, who soon joined the rest of the family.

Without knowing, Zeiyth gifted them with more than some mundane goods, she offered them a warm moment together and some precious memories.
